I'm sitting in my room, on the 8th floor of the Doubletree, and the signal - while faint - is solid. Fantastic. Oddly, Spokane is using some kind of authentication system from Zum (the price is "free"), instead of leaving it wide-open as most free WiFi systems do. I wonder if they are doing it so people have to accept the terms and conditions of the network ... or if they want to eventually charge for the thing. At any rate -- free wireless. Right on.
